Type of Feeling, 2024
Type should make you feel something.
We asked: What if a typeface could be more than functional or aesthetic? What if it could carry the emotional weight of the words it holds?
The Idea - Type of Feeling is a new boutique type foundry that combines distinct and rarely spoken emotions with undeniable craft. Each typeface in the collection is inspired by specific feelings, which are embedded in the terminals, tails, counters, and more, bringing an emotional depth to typography.
Art Director - I worked on the mock ups and “branding” of each typeface—ensuring the design and storytelling reflected the emotional depth at the heart of the work. I also worked on other parts of the project right through to launch.
Outcome - Type of Feeling launched as both a type foundry and an emotional design experiment—blurring the line between craft and feeling. It received early praise from designers and studios for its originality, conceptual depth, and beautiful execution.
